Dog Days (And Cats Too) A Day About Pets

Thinking of adding a new dog or cat to your family? Need a refresher on what it takes to properly care for a pet? Want to know how to train a dog for reading and other therapies? Find answers to these questions and more at this event for all ages.

Meet representatives from PAWSibilities, County of Summit Division of Animal Control, Sit Means Sit, Rubber City Kennel Club, and members of the Summit Animal Coalition.

Program Schedule:

11:00 -11:20 am Akron Police Department K9 Unit, Christopher Davis (Learn how canines are used in drug detection, building searches, locating missing and lost children, and crime scene searches.)

11:30-11:50 am County of Summit Animal Control, Christine Fatheree (Protection against stray dogs.)

12:10 – 12:30 pm Sit Means Sit, Jeni Cox (What does it take to train a dog for reading and other therapies?)

12:40 – 1:00 pm Pawsibilities, Marissa Gelender (Adoption information and basic pet care.)

1:10 – 1:30 pm Rubber City Kennel Club, Emily Steranka (Competition, grooming, and more)
