The Akron-Summit County Public Library is seeking exhibitors for the first-ever Akron Mini Maker Faire to be held Saturday, November 2, 1 - 4 p.m. at Main Library in Akron. The Faire is a grassroots celebration of local innovation that will feature projects – either complete or works in progress – which both showcase the exhibitor’s creativity and inspire the viewer to want to know more.
Applications may be submitted from individuals as well as from groups such as hobbyist clubs and schools. Exhibits that are interactive and that highlight the process of making things are encouraged. Exhibitors must be willing to teach, share and demonstrate.
Types of projects sought:
Handmade or homemade projects by individuals, clubs, school groups, or start-up companies
Made projects or making processes that use new technologies or old technologies in new ways
Interactivity for adults and children
Innovative, creative and inventive projects that will get a real “WOW!”
A limited number of exhibit spaces are available. Local makers may apply by calling the Science and Technology Division at 330-643-9075, emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or clicking on the website
