UPublish story by Deb Solan

The Tale of Desperaux, a 2008, Rated G, British-American fantasy computer-animated film, will be presented on Saturday, Sept. 14, at 6 p.m. at The Community of Believers Christian Church, formerly Loew's State Theatre, 2543 State Road, Cuyahoga Falls.

The movie is free, as are popcorn, snacks and drinks.

The film is based on the award-winning book of the same title which received a Newbury Medal, sealing its place as a favorite pick among teachers in classrooms across the nation.

The story is about Despereaux Tilling, a small mouse with abnormally large ears who lives in the Kingdom of Dor. The loveable mouse, however, doe snot fit in with his peers. He is much to brave to cower in fear when isntructed to do so and he prefers reading books rather than eating them. After daring to speak to a human, something strictly forbidden, he is banished from Mouseworld and forced to live in Ratworld, where he soons befriends another outcast. He then begins an adventure as he vows to uphold the virtues of truth, justice, compassion and forgiveness.

The movie is narrated by Sigourney Weaver and stars the voices of Matthew Broderick, Emma Watson, Robbie Coltrane and Dustin Hoffman.

This free movie is part of the Community of Believers' monthly "Movies with a Messsage." The church had been the home of the Loew's State Theatre from the late 1950s through the early 1990s. The church wants to, once again, be able to offer free movies that will entertain and challenge.
