Akron, Ohio - Local area high schools are getting ready to compete in the 2013 JA Titan Challenge on Friday, March 22nd, hosted by Junior Achievement of North Central Ohio. The event will be held at the University of Akron from 7:45 am-2:30 pm in the Gary and Karen Taylor Institute for Direct Marketing located on the 5th floor of the Polsky Building.

The JA Titan Challenge is a high school competition that uses Junior Achievement's high school JA Titan Program. The program increases student understanding of the real world of business. During the competition, students experience how success or failure of a business depends on how well they manage key decisions such as pricing, marketing strategies, and R & D investments.

Between competition rounds, the students will be engaged in an ice breaker activity and interactive discussion with a Panel of Experts comprised of local business leaders. The Panel of Experts includes Bryant Henson (Lockheed Martin), Patricia Mishic (A. Schulman), Ben Scott (FedEx Custom Critical), and Keeven White (WhiteSpace Creative).

The sponsors for the 2013 JA Titan Challenge include: Lockheed Martin, ExxonMobil, FedEx Custom Critical, EYEMG, Goodyear, Bridgestone, and Deluxe Corporation.
