ELYRIA, OH — November 4, 2013 – The Lorain County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors announces the appointment of Anthony (Tony) Gallo to President effective January 1, 2014. Gallo will serve as the chief executive and administrative officer of the Chamber, primarily overseeing the development of programs and policies that will best serve the Chamber and its 650 members. He will be responsible for functions critical to the success of the Chamber, including strategic and long-range planning, research, budget management and supervision of staff.
Gallo currently serves as the Chamber’s Director of Business Development, a position he has held for more than 10 years since joining the organization in 2003. In this role, Gallo serves as a member liaison, connecting local businesses and helping them tap into the many resources that Lorain County has to offer. He is also responsible for membership development, promoting Chamber benefits to existing and prospective members, and planning special events.
According to Lynn S. Miggins, P.E., President of Elyria-based KS Associates, Inc., and Chair of the Lorain County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, “Tony takes a sincere, personal interest in members and works tirelessly to connect them to new business opportunities. His knowledge of the Lorain County business community and this region’s resources, combined with the relationships he has development with Lorain County constituents, gives him the perspective needed to successfully drive the Chamber’s strategic efforts.”
As President, Gallo plans to continue his role as director of the Lorain County Safety Council and will remain involved in developing the puLse, a quarterly publication that promotes Lorain County and Northeast Ohio.
Gallo currently serves as Board Chairman of NOACC (Northern Ohio Area Chamber of Commerce), which represents 125 chambers from Indiana to Pennsylvania. He serves on the board of the Lorain Growth Corporation, a non-profit organization dedicated to the revitalization of Lorain County. He is a member of the Northcoast BIA (Building Industry Association), a member and past president of the Elyria Sunrise Rotary, a Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary Foundation, and was recognized by the YMCA with the Triangle Award for Volunteer Leadership (2012).
