AKRON, OHIO (September 11, 2013) – ATHENA International, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting, developing and honoring women leaders, will hold the 5th Annual Athena International Women’s Leadership Day Luncheon. The event will connect established and emerging woman leaders on Wednesday, September 18 at 11:30 a.m. the Fairlawn Country Club in Akron, Ohio.
“We are delighted to bring together emerging women leaders with other women who have found success in their careers,” said Chris Brown, Vice Chair of ATHENA International and Co-chair of this year’s event. “The ATHENA Women’s Leadership Day event helps women leaders to connect with emerging women leaders in our communities.”
The 5th Annual ATHENA International Women’s Leadership Day Luncheon provides a venue for emerging women leaders to discuss leadership skills with established leaders. Women's Leadership Day was developed to encourage women leaders to extend a hand and support one another.
Debra Adams Simmons, Chair of ATHENA International and Editor of the Plain Dealer, will act as the Master of Ceremonies. Dianne Newman, the 2013 Akron ATHENA Leadership Award recipient, will be the Keynote presenter.
Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Women’s Endowment Fund of Akron Community Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) public charity.
