One-Day 100 Hole Golf Marathon Fundraiser seeks to break collective $100,000 mark

Golf Marathon to Benefit HMC Hospice of Medina County

Medina, Ohio - Over the course of four years, one man’s passion for golf has generated over $80,000 benefitting HMC Hospice of Medina County. Once again, for the fifth consecutive year, local business owner, Pat Spoerndle, will take to the links during his annual 100 For Hospice golf marathon. Hosted at Fox Meadow Country Club on August 5, 2013, Spoerndle hopes to surpass the collective $100,000 donation mark by shooting 100 holes of golf in one day.

“One hundred percent of all donations are tax deductible and 100 percent will go to HMC Hospice of Medina County’s capital campaign,” says Spoerndle. He continued by adding “While I rarely need even one reason to play the game, HMC gives me many reasons to the swing the club. As home to the only inpatient care center in Medina county, HMC provides comfort and support to patients and families when they need it most. Playing golf seems like the least I can do to help support the cause.”

Spoerndle solicits donations from family, friends, and local businesses. He’s also challenging contributors to achieve the honorary level of “Centurion” by:

· Making a donation of at least $100.

· Recruiting at least five others to make $100 donations.

· Encouraging the five recruits to find five others to make $100 donations.

· Soliciting donations from business and corporate contacts.

(Special recognition will be given to “Centurion” and individual sponsors making donations of $250 or more.)

Spoerndle plans to be on the course by 6:30 a.m. and invites the public to stop by throughout the day to watch and provide moral support. Joining Spoerndle this year will be the ESPN 850 WKNR radio team including Kenny “The Road Man” Roda, Bruce Hoooley, Matt Fontana, and Tony Rizzo.
