UPublish story by Carli Kistler-Miller

Our Lady of the Elms Elementary School has been awarded the 2012 Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Award by the United States Department of Education. U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan made the announcement this morning in Arlington, Virginia.

Only 50 private schools in the nation are eligible to receive the award each year! Our Lady of the Elms Elementary School is receiving the award for exemplary high performance on nationally-normed tests for the past five years, as well as high standards in the core curricular areas.

“This award is a testament to the exemplary teaching of our faculty and the dedicated efforts of our students to exceed expectations and reach their highest potential. I am proud that we have achieved our goal of becoming a blue ribbon school,” as stated by Elementary School Principal, Marie Reichart.
