10/31/2012 – Medina, Ohio: In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness month, Slate Rock Safety, LLC, an e-commerce business specializing in the distribution of safety clothing, dedicated the month of October to cancer awareness and education, pledging to donate a portion of the month’s sales to cancer research. The company promoted its campaign both internally and externally, and as a result of the efforts, exceeded the initial donation goal.
Throughout the month, members of the Slate Rock Safety team were encouraged to share their stories, memories, or photos on an “inspiration board,” created to pay homage to and celebrate the lives of friends and family members who have courageously battled cancer. Concurrently, Slate Rock Safety contributed $35 from the sale of every National Safety Apparel flame resistant sweatshirt from the “Spirit fleece” clothing line to the donation fund.
To culminate the month, Slate Rock Safety staff members gathered to celebrate their collective achievement, and hand over the donation check. President Heidi Sweeney stated, “I'm so proud of our team for coming together for such a great cause. It was enlightening to hear all of the personal messages, and inspiring to be able to give back in a meaningful way.”
