College Students Give Back to the Community
Wooster, Ohio – date TBA – Collegiate students perform to raise money for Viola Startzman Clinic. The 4+1 Woodwind Quintet from The College of Wooster to perform at St. James Episcopal Church at 12:05 PM for a brown bag recital on November 14th, 2013. The performance is free, but a freewill donation to the Viola Startzman Free Clinic will be offered.
Selections include Ma Mére l’OyeI (Mother Goose) by Maurice Ravel (1875-1937), Petite Suite Miniature No. 1 Menuet and No. 2 Courte Gavotte by Guillaume Balay (1871-1943), and In Autumn from the Woodland Sketches Op. 51 by Edward MacDowell (1860-1908).
Performers consist of senior flautist Amanda Friedman from Canton, Ohio, senior oboist Spencer Brown from Santa Maria, California, junior bassoonist Robert Worrell from Yellow Springs, Ohio, junior clarinetist Robert Berg from North Royalton, Ohio, and sophomore French horn player Emily Brunkalla from Jackson Township, Ohio. The 4+1 Woodwind Quintet is coached and organized by Professor Denise Rotavera-Krain, and will perform at The College of Wooster at numerous points throughout the academic year.
