Multi-Sport Team Organize Their First Indoor Swimming, Biking and Running Competition at the Health and Fitness Club in Hudson
HUDSON, OHIO (February 18, 2013) – Team E.R., an Akron area multi-sport team, will combine efforts to present the First Annual Indoor Triathlon at LifeCenter Plus on Sunday, March 10. Team E.R. is named for Eddy’s Bike Shop and Ritchies Sporting Goods.
“Our goal is to show how anyone, young, old, in shape or out of shape, can participate in a triathlon,” said Chris Schmauder, organizer of the Team E.R triathlon. “It is a great way to experience something you have never tried before and to do it in a way that will keep you wanting to ‘tri’ more. We want everyone to feel welcomed and to have fun while promoting exercise and good health.”
Participants will compete in three different events: swimming, followed by biking and running, with each leg lasting 20 minutes. Places will be determined by cumulative distances over each portion. Awards will be given to the top three overall finishers for individuals, team and top three finishers in each age group.
“For the experienced triathlete, the goal is to host a competitive event where they can practice their skills and enjoy a break from the monotony of training,” said Schmauder. “Not everything has to feel like a workout. This event will be a fun experience in a carefree environment.”
Adults and children are welcome as well as members and nonmembers of LifeCenter Plus. Registration can be completed via online or mail. Forms can be found online at www.active.com and www.ohioteam-er.com. Online registration at www.active.com must be submitted by March 8, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Standard Time.
