FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Local Foundation Provides New Bus to Nursing Home Residents

Akron, Ohio – November 8, 2012 – Residents of The Merriman (a nursing home and assisted living facility) will be riding in comfort and style in a new 2012 - 14 passenger bus.

On October 19, 2010 The Merriman Good Life Foundation (a 501 (c) 3 public charity) launched a campaign to raise money to purchase a new bus to be used by the residents of The Merriman.

Thanks to the gifts of many, TMGLF has succeeded in raising $45,620 to purchase a new bus. Because the fund campaign has been so successful money above the purchase price will be placed in a fund to help pay for residents with limited financial resources to go on outings.

Mayor Don Robart, Chairman of the Foundation, applauded the residents and staff of The Merriman, as well as the many donors, for making this new bus a reality.

The Merriman will be holding a ribbon cutting ceremony at 209 Merriman Rd. on Friday, October 9th, at 1:00 pm.
