The Akron Area Chapter of APICS is an active and award winning group for supply chain and operations management professionals. Active in the community for more than 50 years, the chapter is led by a volunteer board of area residents. Each year, the chapter must prove its excellence in serving the business community and members. To assist chapters in achieving excellence in chapter management, APICS offers a recognition program, Chapter Benchmarking and Recognition (CBAR). This defines chapter bench-marks, sets targets for achieving excellence and recognizes their efforts.
The Akron Chapter has met or exceeded the accomplishment of recommended activities for years 2007 through 2011 and achieved Gold status. In 2012, the chapter again achieved this high level and was awarded Platinum for the continuous years of success. The chapter is led by Bath resident Jeffrey Lubash CSCP CPIM and further information on chapter activities is available at www.akronapics.org. These include review courses to achieve supply chain certification, professional development meetings and networking events.
