UPublish story by Al Cohen

(CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio, February 5, 2013) – Dave Harman, the director of Sandler Training in Chagrin Falls, recently received one of the Council of Smaller Enterprises’ (COSE) top honors, as he was named the organization’s 2012 Volunteer Service Award (volunteer of the year) winner at the COSE Annual Meeting.

Harman has been associated with COSE for many years with both his training and consulting business and his farming venture. He has been a key leader and participant in COSE’s advocacy work; is a member of the COSE Ambassador Program, including being recognized by his peers on the Ambassador Committee as the Most Involved Ambassador in 2012; serves as a COSE Leads Group co-leader; and was a workshop presenter at the 2012 Small Business Convention.

“Dave is a strong advocate on the benefits of COSE, he believes in our mission and is always looking for ways to give back. He went above and beyond in his support of COSE last year and is truly deserving of this prestigious award,” said COSE President and Executive Director Steve Millard.

“What began several years back as another way to network in Northeast Ohio, turned into a passion to work with others who want to grow and develop. The COSE staff is masterful at creating member experiences that are inviting, supportive and productive, so it has been my honor to support their initiatives and it is humbling to be considered a part of their legacy of award winners,” said Harman.

Harman has over 30 years’ experience in sales and sales management with Fortune 500 companies, as well as small, family-owned organizations. After many years as a Sandler Training client in Chagrin Falls, he joined the Sandler team in 2003 to pursue his desire to help sales and management teams grow in the areas of sales, leadership and professionalism. Prior to Sandler Training, Harman held positions from sales to senior management with companies such as Conoco/Vista, Amresco, and Ohio Awning. He is currently serving as a District Commissioner for the Boy Scouts of America and has been involved with them for over 15 years.

In business for more than 20 years, Sandler Training in Chagrin Falls has trained over 3,000 people, providing solutions for sales and sales management training, management and leadership training for business owners and senior executives, negotiations training, customer service training, inside sales and support training, and coaching and mentoring.
