PRESS RELEASE- 11/17/2011
Sushi on the Roll announces relocation to a state of the art facility in Medina, Ohio SOTR's new address will be 985 Boardman Alley, Medina.
For over 4 years, Sushi on the Roll has been bringing fresh made high quality sushi, sashimi, rice/noodle bowls, and other favorites into both public and private school systems, Fortune 500 Companies, hospitals, large cafeterias, and other special events throughout Ohio and Pennsylvania. Customers have included The Cleveland Browns, Nationwide Insurance, FedEx, The University of Akron, PNC Bank, Chase, Smuckers, Westfield Insurance, Akron General Medical Center, Summa Healthcare, First Energy, and many more.
Sushi on the Roll started in 2007 in Bath, Ohio and has achieved tremendous growth in the manufacturing and wholesale divisions of the company and now requires a larger facility. With this relocation to Medina, SOTR will now offer a new lunch and dinner hour daily to the public, in addition to the growing needs of the wholesale and catering businesses.
In addition, SOTR also provides a "chef on-site" option. This has added another dimension to the company as most special events & large cafeterias are a great option for sushi "made-to-order."
The company’s menu is unique and all recipes have been created by Sushi on the Roll. Many of the products have a traditional Asian style, with an American twist. SOTR spends many hours educating their customer about sushi and what the word "sushi" actually means, which is "seasoned rice" The market in general believes sushi means “raw fish” which present a large opportunity for growth. Approximately 80% of their products are fully cooked including shrimp and crab. These marketing approaches have been featured on the front page of the Akron Beacon Journal, Fox 8 News, as well as The Westside Leader, The Bath Country Journal, and many other websites.
Many exciting and new opportunities have presented themselves to Sushi on the Roll. The owners Jon Roller & Ken Oppenheimer are not from the food industry and worked for a large mortgage lender for years, which faced the financial crunch in 2007. After the company folded, SOTR was born. Everything from packaging, pricing, and distribution were all created in a very short time to bring sushi into the corporate market.
Civic contributions include the National Honor Society, Boy Scouts of America, American Cancer Society, The March of Dimes, The United Way, Stewarts Caring Place, Akron General Medical Center Foundation, The Jerry Shaw JCC, and others.
Sushi on the Roll plans to expand this concept to other markets and Medina, Ohio will be the new corporate headquarters. There will be significant growth in years to come as people continue to look for healthier options.
