The CenterStage Theater Department at Walsh Jesuit High School presents its Spring musical production of “Les Miserables, School Edition,” March 7, 13 and 14 at 7:00PM, March 8, 9, 15, and 16 at 7:30PM, March 9, 10, 16 and 17 at 2:00PM, in the Walsh Jesuit High School Theater, 4550 Wyoga Lake Road, in Cuyahoga Falls.
The musical has been one of the all-time biggest hits on Broadway and the unforgettable characters bring its powerful message of redemption to the stage with this all sung, award winning show production. It was written by Alain Boublil, and Claude-Michel Schonberg, and was based upon the novel by Victor Hugo. The music is by Claude-Michel Schonberg with lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer.
The show is put on through the cooperation of Music Theatre International and Cameron Mackintosh. “Les Miserables” is also experiencing a huge rebirth as a major motion picture starring Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, and Anne Hathaway, and there is also a national tour of the Broadway show currently running. Director David Banks says, “This is one of the most intense production we have put on at CenterStage as well as one of the largest! We have custom made costumes, sets and special effects, a 16-piece, live orchestra, 25 member crew, and a 55 member cast coming together to make an unforgettable theatrical experience.”
