Local sub elite runner, 28 year old Mike Capriolo, finished the Chevron Houston marathon with a 2:25:19, he placed 16th, and was the 4th American to cross the finish line. This is a PR for Mike. He trained for over 7 months for the ING NYC marathon, which was canceled in November because of Hurricane Sandy. Mike trained hard for NYC and was disappointed he wasn't able to run. He looked for another marathon and found the Houston Marathon. Mike continued to train for the next 3 months.
Mike has also run the Akron full and half marathons. In 2012, he won the Akron 1/2 marathon.
His goal is to run in the 2016 Olympic marathon qualifier.
