School Choice Ohio Inc., a Columbus-based non-profit advocacy group, has filed an action in the Ohio Supreme Court seeking the release of "directory information" for children enrolled in the Cincinnati and Springfield city schools.

School Choice Ohio says it wants the students' names and addresses so that it can send information to families on  Ohio's voucher program. The program allows parents to withdraw their children from public schools and send them to private schools at public expense. The  money is deducted from the public school district.

The case is 2014-0749.

It was filed May 12 and the court on May 19 referred it to mediation.
