This Saturday, the Blue Line Beginners will take their talents to the lovely Copley Community Park at 3232 Copley Road in Copley Township.
We will also welcome guest speaker Dr. Nilesh Shah, who is a sports medicine doctor at Summa and the Akron Marathon's medical director. I know most of us are really going to appreciate this opportunity! Dr. Shah will speak about injuries, so think about what you want to ask and bring your questions. He'll start at 9 a.m. and our group walk./run will begin right after.
There are three trails of lengths between .35 mile and 1.04 mile, but they all blend together allowing us to create a variety of options. The park features a pond, some wooded areas and some open areas.
I haven't explored the woods but I don't believe there are a lot of elevation changes. That means you'll need to make an effort to get in some hills on your other training days!
We will meet in the south parking lot (on the left side on the map.) Enter the park, go past the first drive to the right and make your way to the second right.
Copley will be home for the next two weeks. Those are the final group runs before our June 24 National Interstate 8k and 1 mile race. Have a great training week and we'll see you there!
