Jackson Police Chief Ty J.Bissler compiled a packet of information for township residents on coyotes, which is now available at the font desk at the safety center, according to the Suburbanite.

The packet contains information on what they look life, their diet, typical actions, habits, and how to get rid of them.

Bissler told the Suburbanite that residents should avoid letting their pets outside at night unsupervised, and to bring all pet food indoors, including birdfeeders.

The department had received numerous calls about coyote sightings and there have been three pet killings since March 2012 that have been reported. Residents are asked to contact the Ohio Department of Natural Resources at 1-800-945-3543 to report a sighting.
