It's looking like a great week to be on the trails. You might even run into one of our Blue Line Beginners. Meet four more of our teammates...

"I moved here 10 years ago for a job opportunity with Goodyear. I have a husband who is a runner, and an active dog who needs lots of walks, so I do walk pretty regularly. I fell out of a regular workout routine some time ago and really want to get into the habit again. I've never considered myself to be a runner, but now I'm interested because I'm with other people more at my level. I look forward to seeing what more I can do, and being with a group that can hold my feet/running shoes to the pavement!"

"I was born and raised in Chicago but have lived in Silver Lake for about 25 years now. I'm 57 years old and actually feel I'm in pretty good shape. Work out regularly, watch my diet, etc. I do go for short runs on a fairly regular basis and have always wished, since it first began, that I could run the Akron Marathon. Always a reason not to with being married, raising a family, not having anyone to train with, fear, etc. etc. Well lo and behold my 21 year old son started running marathons about a year-and-a-half ago and has so far run about 5 of them. And quite honestly every time I go to watch him run I feel that excitement and I look at the people doing it and I really do believe I could run the half. But that fear and intimidation was still in me. Well guess what I got for Christmas from my son? He registered me to run the Akron half marathon. So here I am!"

"My husband Gregg and I saw Blue Line Beginners as something we could do together and as a way to get in shape. We need the accountability of the group and both have very sedentary jobs. It's been hard to find time to workout, much less do other things together, with a child with special needs. We have found everyone to be so nice and friendly. We've met some great people and I love the support."

"I have always wanted to train with someone but couldn't find a group. I ran my first marathon at age 56, then five years later I was 61. I am now 65 and we will see if I can run again!"
