Beer is synonymous with barbecuing. It’s that simple. For all the different foods that can be cooked outside, there is a perfect beer match. While the old trope of “drink what you like” can be acceptable, some beers simply pair better with specific types of food being made on the grill.

Many of the best beers to pair with your barbecuing can be found in Ohio. Some are widely available year-round, while others require a search. Here’s the seventh of 10 beers we like:

Southern Tier Brewing Co. Eurotrash Pilz (5.2%)

If you prefer to grill lighter fare like salmon or tuna, a pilsner is a nice match. Instead of picking out a common gas station pilsner, opt for Eurotrash Pilz from Southern Tier Brewing Co. The Lakewood, N.Y., brewer seems to expand its reach every year, and Eurotrash Pilz is one of its best. A golden and clear light beer that won’t overpower the fish you’re eating, a good pilsner is a refreshing pairing.
