Beer is synonymous with barbecuing. It’s that simple. For all the different foods that can be cooked outside, there is a perfect beer match. While the old trope of “drink what you like” can be acceptable, some beers simply pair better with specific types of food being made on the grill.

Many of the best beers to pair with your barbecuing can be found in Ohio. Some are widely available year-round, while others require a search. Here’s the second of 10 beers we like:

The Brew Kettle White Rajah — American IPA (6.8%)

If you’re looking to bring a taste of the West Coast to your cookout, give the White Rajah from the Brew Kettle in Strongsville a try. An American IPA, at 6.8 percent ABV, the White Rajah pushes the malt flavor aside in favor of fruity hops and a bitter, yet smooth, finish. The well-balanced flavor can cleanse the palate, but since the White Rajah is not overpowering in its bitterness, it doesn’t overpower what you’re eating.
