The Akron business counseling group SCORE will offer the program Simple Steps for Starting Your Business beginning April 4.
The free series consists of six three-hour sessions that help evaluate an existing business or a new business idea. Workshops are at the Taylor Institute at the University of Akron from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursdays.
Topics and dates: Start-Up Basics, April 4; Business Concept, keys in creating a business plan, April 11; Marketing Plan, how to market your product or service, April 18; Financial Projections, on forecasting, two dates, April 25 and May 2; and the last program, Funding Sources, information on how to finance your small business, May 9.
SCORE says the program aims to provide “an interactive learning environment” that includes case studies and work assignments based on a participant’s business idea.
Attendees will receive a certificate of completion for the program.
