Akron police say woman slashed friend for not stealing vodka. Reported by Beacon Journal staff. A woman is accused of slashing a friendís forearm with a hook knife after he refused to steal a bottle of vodka from an Akron grocery store. Valerie J. Isabell, 41, who has no permanent address, was charged with felonious assault. She and a male acquaintance were walking in the 600 block of East Market Street at 8 p.m. Saturday and she wanted the man to steal vodka, Akron police said. When he refused, she slashed him, police said.
