UA welcoming international students in a big way; four new recruiters working to boost enrollment. Reported by Katie Byard. Still recovering from jet lag, new University of Akron employee JP Yates ticked off the string of Asian and Southeast Asian countries he visited on a seven-week trip he wrapped up this week. The country-hopping journey was part of his job at the university, where he is one of four newly hired international student recruiters. UA, which has suffered from declining enrollments and budget crunches, is hoping international students will play a significant role in its overall growth plans.
