Two-hour Kent standoff ends peacefully after woman’s surrender. Reported by Beacon Journal staff. A standoff lasted nearly two hours on Franklin Avenue in Kent on Sunday after city police officers attempted to arrest a woman on drug charges, police said. Kent police attempted to serve a felony warrant on India Scott, 28, at 1543 Franklin Ave. When officers arrived, Scott ran into the duplex and refused to come outside, police said. Officers evacuated several people from the home who said Scott was upstairs with a gun, and then notified Metro SWAT. Scott surrendered unarmed around 1 p.m.
