Teamwork saves Akron transitional home for drug-addicted men. Reported by Doug Livingston. The county’s largest transitional housing program for drug-addicted men has avoided closure after help from public agencies. The ribbon was cut this week at the program’s new location on Frederick Boulevard. Recovering addict Denny Wilson opened F. I. Community Housing over five years ago. In the spring, the property’s owner was told to auction the building. So Wilson asked City Hall for help. Officials found a new location, and Wilson plans to move his men into their new housing by November first.
