Trails Day — The National Park Service is seeking volunteers to celebrate National Trails Day from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Nest walk — You can join a bird walk led by volunteer Dwight Chasar in the Cuyahoga Valley park to seek out nesting birds. Meet at 7:30 a.m. at the Station Road Bridge Trailhead off Riverview Road in Brecksville.

Down on farm — Artwork on Down on the Farm by the Crooked River Gang, a group of local artists, will be featured in an exhibit at the M.D. Garage in the Cuyahoga Valley park. Hours: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1556 Boston Mills Road, Boston Township. The show continues from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Cardio hike — Metro Parks, Serving Summit County, is holding a cardio hike at 9 a.m. It will start at the Big Bend Area of Sand Run Metro Park. That’s off Merriman Road in northwest Akron. It will be a four-mile hike on the Towpath Trail. Bring water. 330-865-8065.

Photo reception — Metro Parks, Serving Summit County, is hosting a public reception for a new photo exhibit by Stow photographer-park volunteer Jerry Cannon. It will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Seiberling Nature Realm, 1828 Smith Road, Akron. The exhibit is on Liberty Park with its ledges. Chippewa hike — Medina County’s Happy Trails Hiking Club will meet at 10 a.m. at the Chippewa Rail Trail for a hike. The trailhead is off Chippewa Road near Lake Road in Lafayette Township. Dress for the weather. For ages 12 to adult. 330-722-9364.

Trail Day party — The Stark County Park District will celebrate National Trails Day on the trails at Petros Lake Park from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is one of 12 official Trails Day events in Ohio and one of 1,200 in the United States. Trail Day hike — The Akron Metro Parks Hiking Club will celebrate National Trails Day with a hike on the Buckeye Trail in the Cuyahoga Valley. Meet at 9 a.m. at the Botzum Trailhead off Bath Road in North Akron. It will be a six-mile hike with a five-mile Towpath Trail option. 330-923-6371.
