Contra dance — You can join the musical group Hu$hmoney with its jigs and reels and caller Carol Kopp in a contra dance from 8 to 10:30 p.m. at the Boston Township School House at Riverview Road and state Route 303 in Peninsula. Instruction will be provided at 7 p.m. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes. The fee is $6.

Ski workshop — The National Park Service is offering a cross-country ski workshop for beginners from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Cuyahoga Valley park. Ice Age 2013 — The Cleveland Museum of Natural History is staging Ice Age 2013, a winter weekend with ice sculpting demonstrations, live animal shows, snow sled demonstrations and planetarium shows from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The program will continue from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. Towpath hike — Summit County Council member Tim Crawford will lead the third annual First Walk on the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail. The hike will run from 10 a.m. to noon from the Manchester Road Trailhead off Manchester Road in southwest Akron. Hot chocolate will be served.
