Here's a quick look at some of the top stories from the entertainment world this week.
I’m sure you’ve seen plenty of little Frozen princesses this Halloween season. Well, imagine Elsa as a 6-foot-5, 212-pound defenseman. That’s what the kids of the Boston Children’s Hospital got to see when Dougie Hamilton and Co. dressed up as the characters from the Disney film Frozen for a holiday visit. Joining Hamilton was Matt Fraser, Kevan Miller, Matt Bartkowski, Torey Krug and Seth Griffith.
Daniel drops some rhymes
Who knew Harry Potter was magic on the mic? Daniel Radcliffe appeared on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday to promote his new movie Horns but ended up surprising everyone with his impressive rendition of Blackalicious’ “Alphabet Aerobics.”
Marvel’s five-year plan
Marvel unveiled its plan for its franchise until 2019. Yes, 2019. Some of the highlights include another Captain America film, two more Avengers films. There will also be and the introduction of Dr. Strange (rumored to be staring Kahn himself, Benedict Cumberbatch) and Black Panther (staring Chadwick Boseman, fresh off his role as James Brown in Get on Up).
What do you think of the studio trying to keep its audience hooked long term? I’ve heard of a five-year plan, but yikes. Can’t we see the upcoming Avengers movie before we worry about part one of the third film?
In case you missed it, here’s what Beacon Journal pop culture writer Rich Heldenfels thinks about the subject.
Biel’s Baby bump?
Rumor has it that Jessica Biel and hubby Justin Timberlake are expecting. The couple just celebrated their two-year anniversary a few weeks ago, so the news isn’t shocking. However, the photo that is causing all the speculation is a bit shaky at best. Apparently missing a button and having a tummy that looks like you’ve just ate lunch, means you’re pregnant nowadays.
Not to say she’s not pregnant. But, I’m going to need more confirmation that that. Once the paps catch her shopping for baby clothes or even coming out of a prenatal yoga class, then I’ll get (admittedly way too) excited for baby Timberlake.
Swiftly taking over the world
You’ve probably seen Taylor Swift a ton over the last few weeks. She’s on The Voice. She’s on the Today show. She’s on the cover of countless magazines. She’s on this. She’s on that. She’s everywhere. Well, coincidently, she released her latest album, 1989, on Monday. Despite the full on media blitz, she has another artist to thank for some extra press. Kelly Clarkson’s rendition of Swift’s single “Shake it Off” blew up online.
