The city of Green will hold its annual Christmas-at-Town Park event from 2-7 p.m. on Saturday, according to the city’s website. The holiday festivities will take place along Town Park Boulevard.



The Green library will hold an open house from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a story hour at 2 p.m. and an opportunity to make crafts. The Green High School Select Choir will sing Christmas music at 2 p.m., and refreshments will be provided.



Kids County Day Care, 1801 Town Park Blvd., will have activities for children from 1-4 p.m. and a visit from Mrs. Claus.



The Kandy Kane Xpress Holiday Festival will be held from 1-5 p.m. at the Akron General Health and Wellness building. There will be train rides on the Kandy Kane Xpress, crafts and a mini-Christmas tree auction. This event is a fundraiser for the Dane Foundation.



There will be a Knit for the Needy event from 2-5 p.m. in the Central Administration Building. Participants will create scarves, hats and blankets, and everything created will be donated to Green Good Neighbors.



At 4 p.m., the city will hold its first Rudolph Run, a half-mile run or walk that stretches from the Central Administration Building’s parking lot to Green Memorial Stadium and back. Runners and walkers are encouraged to wear Christmas costumes. Prizes will be given out for the best themed family and the most creative. There will also be a Bah Humbug Award and a Spirit of Christmas Award. This event is free, but registration is required.



Brian Lisik, a local singer/songwriter, will perform holiday music at 5 p.m., and Santa will arrive at 5:30 p.m. to light the holiday decorations with Mayor Dick Norton. There will also be a Christmas carol sing-a-long and fireworks.



Donations to the Shoebox for Soldiers are accepted instead of an admission fee. For more information about Christmas-at-Town Park, visit the city’s website.
