Marvelís The Avengers will not only get premieres beginning at 12:01 a.m. Friday, but theaters will woo fans with replays of previous Marvel movies Thursday.
Regal Montrose Movies 12 will be among 76 Regal theaters nationwide showing Iron Man, Iron Man 2 and the 3-D versions of Thor and Captain America beginning at 2:15 p.m. Thursday ó and followed at 12:01 a.m. Friday by The Avengers in 3-D. Other participating theaters in the region include the Regal Crocker Park in Westlake and Regal Richmond in Richmond Heights.
A ticket for all five films is $35. Admission includes a free small popcorn and 20 extra credits for Regal Crown Club holders.
Cinemark Valley View is among theaters offering a six-movie marathon beginning at noon Thursday, with Iron Man, the Edward Norton version of The Hulk, Iron Man 2, the 3-D Thor and Captain America and, again, The Avengers at 12:01 a.m. Friday.
Tickets for that marathon are $20. The theater will also have a discount on large fountain and frozen drink refills; after you buy the first, refills are $1 each.
Atlas Cinemas in Mentor will show the five pre-Avengers movies at various times from Tuesday to Thursday, with showings of The Avengers at 12:01 a.m. Friday. Tickets for the films are sold separately, but Atlas loyalty cardholders who attend all five will earn a free ticket to another film.
While most of the stars of the previous films reprise their roles in the new ones, Mark Ruffalo succeeds Norton as the Hulk in The Avengers.
