HAMILTON, OHIO: Hollywood producer Jon Wagner has confirmed primary filming has begun on a boxing movie starring Mickey Rourke in the southwest Ohio city of Hamilton.

Wagner tells WCPO-TV that “Tiger” will be the third project he’s worked on in Hamilton.

The film is described as “modern-day boxing drama based on the true story of Pardeep Nagra,” an eastern Indian Sikh who turned to boxing after being kicked off a soccer team for anger issues. Rourke will star as Nagra’s coach, Frank Donovan.

Wagner says crews will spend 16 days filming the movie in Hamilton and an additional three days of shoots will be held in Cincinnati.

“Tiger” is the third movie to film in Hamilton over the past two years and the fifth to shoot in the region this year.
