Clutter joins Prudential Kovack Realtors

Richard Clutter has recently joined Prudential Kovack Realtors as a licensed Realtor. Clutter will be responsible for both residential and commercial real estate in Medina, Wayne and Ashland counties. He was a member of the Ashland and Medina County Board of Realtors and brings with him more than 10 years of real estate experience.

City of Akron taking applications for 2013 Akron Grows Community Gardening

Seven city lots are currently available for community gardening throughout the city of Akron. Garden sites are split into individual plots measuring either 20 by 20 feet or 10 by 20 feet. Downtown Akron Partnership receives Community Support Award

Downtown Akron Partnership (DAP) and Step2 were named recipients of a Community Support Award by Summit County Children Services. Awards were presented at the agency’s 4th Annual Community Appreciation Breakfast on April 30.

In December 2012, Step2, a toy retailer in Streetsboro, generously donated dozens of playhouses, work benches, kitchen sets, riding toys, wagons, easels and more, an assortment valued at over $8,000. The toys were used during First Night Akron 2013. The items were later donated to Summit County Children Services.

Market at Lock 3 to bring fresh produce to Lock 3 for fifth consecutive summer

Downtown Akron Partnership (DAP) and the City of Akron announce the Market at Lock 3 will return for its fifth season on Fridays, July 19 through September 27 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Market at Lock 3 is a unique, outdoor, producer’s only Market featuring fresh produce, homemade products, baked goods, local meats, handmade gifts and more.

“The Market at Lock 3 brings fresh, healthy foods to the urban core to encourage Downtown employees and nearby residents to be active and make healthy lifestyle choices,” said Kimberly Beckett, director of business relations. “Markets are important community and neighborhood builders and we want people to feel like they are an important part of the Downtown community.”

Akron-Summit County Public Library announces 2nd annual Mind, Body and Sole: Read at Your Own Pace experience

Beginning June 3 and running through September 14, the Akron-Summit County Public Library is encouraging participants in the 2nd annual Mind, Body and Sole experience to read 30 minutes daily and run/walk at least 26 miles (52,000 pedometer steps) during the 3-month period.
