Princess Charlotte all smiles
Princess Charlotte looks delighted with a cuddly toy dog in a photo taken by her mother, the Duchess of Cambridge.
It’s one of two images of the 6-month-old princess released Sunday by Kensington Palace.
The pictures of Charlotte in a Liberty print dress and pink cardigan were taken earlier this month at Anmer Hall, Prince William and Kate’s country home in eastern England. The photos were released to thank well-wishers for all the “warm messages about Princess Charlotte” the family has received.
Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana was born May 2 and is fourth in line to the British throne after Prince Charles, her father Prince William and her 2-year-old brother, Prince George.
Hoboken celebrates Sinatra
The mile-square New Jersey city where Frank Sinatra was born is finding the centennial of his birth to be a very good year.
Throughout 2015, Hoboken has remembered its native son with outdoor screenings of his movies, a “Sinatra Idol” competition and concerts that will be capped by a centennial birthday bash on Dec. 12.
The Hoboken Historical Museum has seen a 300 percent jump in visitors since opening a Sinatra exhibit in early August and has hired extra staff.
The city has named a street, park and post office after the entertainer.
Sinatra died in California in 1998 at age 82.
Adele’s album sets sales record
Adele’s new album 25 has sold 3.38 million copies in its first week, smashing single week sales records, according to Nielsen Music.
As reported by Billboard, 25 is the first album to sell more than 3 million copies in one week in Nielsen’s history, which has been tracking first week purchases since 1991. The previous record was held by ’NSYNC whose 2000 album No Strings Attached sold 2.4 million copies in its first week.
25 has also become the best-selling album of the year, flying past the 1.8 million copies sold of Taylor Swift’s 1989. Adele did not allow streaming services like Spotify to make 25 available.
Her previous album, 21 has sold 11.24 million copies in the United States.
