The Brooklands opened in 1927 as a speakeasy for Goodyear workers, and it’s celebrating its 90th successive year of being a regular neighborhood bar, reports Malcolm X Abram. The bartenders are very friendly, refreshingly honest and seem to know all the patrons by name and preferred drink. There are several top-shelf liquors to go with the regular stuff, and the beer taps and fridge have all your favorite standard domestics plus a couple of Ohio craft beers. Until 7 p.m., you can enjoy $1.50 drafts and $2 domestics, and there’s an interesting variety of drink and shot specials, from the $2.50 cheesecake shot to $5 mudslides and $8 Irish car bombs.
