The bar at Akron’s da Bayou is large and circular and set in the relative center of the big room, with a few screens above it for casual viewing. The music is classic New Orleans and Great American Songbook. With plenty of booths and tables, it all makes for a low-key, relaxed atmosphere, reports Malcolm X Abram.

The Cajun/Creole cuisine adds New Orleans flair to the Rubber City, as do some of the beers, such as Abita, a Louisiana favorite. It also has a dozen rotating beer taps that include local breweries such as Great Lakes and Fat Head’s and a dozen New Orleans-themed specialty drinks in the $7 to $10 range.
