Finding a great $10 wine is like walking down the street and spotting a silver coin on the sidewalk. Both scenarios are rare, but equally exciting for me.

Tarima Monastrell is a great find from Spain. The Monastrell grape (also known as Mourvedre) is a bit off the beaten path for most of us. The quality and price point are what we hunt. The blueberry puree aromas and silky smooth finish are as attractive as the colorful passion flower on the label.

It was very pleasant with a grilled pork chop and roasted potatoes. There was some left in the bottle, and on day two, it was still great.
