Monster flick

This week’s Movies@Main will feature the giant-size monster flick Kong: Skull Island. A team of explorers seeks to find King Kong with predictably disastrous results. The free movie will be at 6 p.m. at the Akron-Summit County Public Library in downtown Akron. For more, visit akronlibrary.org.

A crafty event

The Made in Ohio Arts & Crafts Fest takes over the grounds at Hale Farm and Village this weekend. There will be more than 160 Ohio artisans, along with local food vendors and entertainment on Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $5. For more, visit halefarm.org.

Revisit radio memories

Kool & the Gang will be at Lock 3 on Saturday. The band Get On Up gets things started at 7 p.m. and the celebration begins at 9 p.m. Reserved tickets are $20 and general admission is $15.

A stroll at the zoo

The Akron Zoo is hosting its Senior Safari from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Visitors ages 62 or older will get in for $6 ($8 for caregivers) and enjoy live entertainment, contests and 40 vendors along with the zoo exhibits. Hit the trail

The 54th annual fall hiking spree officially kicks off Friday and runs through Nov. 30. Participants who hike at least eight designated trails will earn hiking rewards.
