Ribs. Akronís Rib, White & Blue Festival kicks off Friday and runs through Monday on South Main Street. Admission is free and the gates open at 11 a.m. There will be 12 rib joints competing for top honors. Other food options will range from pierogi to sausage sandwiches to funnel cake. There will be performances on the Lock 3 stage including a Bruce Springsteen tribute band Friday night and the Akron Symphony Orchestra before the fireworks on July 4.
Sundaes. There will be free sundaes in Medinaís historic square from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday. The event sponsored by the Medina County Board of Developmental Disabilities will include carnival games, a balloon artist, a photo booth and crafts and activities.
