Rib, White & Blue gets cooking

Akron’s Rib, White & Blue festival opens its gates on South Main Street at 11 a.m. for a six-day run through July 4. In addition to all the savory barbecue, tribute bands are scheduled at Lock 3 Park most nights (Friday’s is Bruce in the USA), and the 122nd Army National Guard Band plays on the Fourth before the city fireworks display. www.lock3live.com.

Shakespeare fest at Stan Hywet

Military saluted at Canal Park

Funky Feat to perform in Kent

Four longtime members of Little Feat — original members Paul Barrere (guitar, vocals), Fred Tackett (guitar) and Kenny Gradney (bass) with longtime Feat drummer Gabe Ford — are touring as Funky Feat and will play the hits at the Kent Stage at 8 p.m. Tickets are $30-$40 at thekentstage.com.
