Rock discussion at library

Rock and roll will take center stage Thursday at the Akron-Summit County Public Library, 60 S. High St., in downtown Akron. Rolling Stone columnist Rob Sheffield, author of On Bowie and the forthcoming Dreaming of the Beatles, joins the Main Event Speaker Series. The talk will be from 7 to 9 p.m.

Visit art museum for free

The Akron Art Museum Free Thursdays will run from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The museum is at 1 S. High St. in downtown Akron. The weekly event offers free gallery admission and special programming throughout the day. For more information, visit akronartmuseum.org.

Check out final farmers market

This is the last Countryside Farmers Market at Highland Square of the season. There will be live music, chef demonstrations and family activities to add some spice to shopping for local produce.
