Just Getting Started
The action comedy starring Morgan Freeman and Tommy Lee Jones hits theaters Friday.
Mob mess: Freeman, 80, plays Duke, a man hiding out in the witness protection program. Jones, 71, is Leo, an ex-FBI agent and Duke’s rival in a retirement community. The two team up to try and fend off a Mob hit.
First pairing: This is the first time the screen veterans have starred together. Between them, Freeman and Jones have nine Oscar nominations and two wins. Freeman won best supporting actor in 2005 for Million Dollar Baby. Jones took home the same prize, in 1994, for The Fugitive.
Shelton story: The film is the brainchild of writer-director Ron Shelton, known for sports movies Bull Durham, Cobb, White Men Can’t Jump and Tin Cup. Just for good measure, he brought along Tin Cup’s co-star Rene Russo to play the guys’ love interest.

One of the most critically acclaimed series on Netflix returns for its second season on Friday. The Crown charts the evolution of England’s Queen Elizabeth II. With Claire Foy as the queen and Matt Smith as Prince Philip, season 2 drops in on the years between 1956 and 1964 and includes a visit from American “royalty” (the Kennedys), along with more romantic shenanigans from Princess Margaret (Vanessa Kirby). As the queen ages, Foy will be replaced by Olivia Colman in seasons 3 and 4. The actual queen, Britain’s longest serving monarch, is still going strong at age 91.
