Women’s History

Annual Women in History Luncheon — 10:30 a.m. March 10, Krassas Event Center, 251 25th St. NW, Canton. This year’s theme is “Helping our Children Bloom, Dedicated to Early Education to Help Children Blossom and Grow.” There will be a grand raffle and silent auction before the luncheon, which begins promptly at noon. Women’s History Month Presentation — 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Akron-Summit County Public Library, Main Library, 60 S. High St., Akron. The History Book Club will host Fly Girls, a one-hour PBS American Experience documentary. The film tells the largely unknown story of more than 1,000 women, all civilian volunteers, who flew almost every type of aircraft as part of the Women’s Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) program.
