MEDINA: The Main Street Cafe has closed and is being replaced by a pizza shop, the Medina Gazette reports.

The closure also likely means an end to the Rally in the Alley concerts, which were overseen by cafe owner Gary Quesada, the newspaper said.

The cafe had operated for 31 years on the square, but it is now being renovated and will house a Romeo Pizza.

The cafe owners posted a message to Facebook thanking the community.

“Thank you for 31 wonderful years!” they wrote. “We have been honored and privileged to be part of the Medina community for the last 31 years. We thank you for your loyal patronage, and for all the good wishes we have received as we begin the next part of our journey. We are excited to see what the new proprietors are going to bring to the Medina community and we wish them continued success.”
