Moody Bible Institute is expanding to include three extension sites in Northeast Ohio, beginning Feb. 4.

The sites — Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy, 4687 Wyoga Lake Road, Cuyahoga Falls; The Chapel in Marlboro, 8700 State Route 619, Marlboro Township; and Hope Alliance Bible Church, 5050 Stanley Ave., Maple Heights — will offer distance learning courses. The classes, which are fully accredited, can be used toward an undergraduate degree or a two-year certificate in biblical studies. They can also be audited for personal enrichment.

“These courses are intended to equip men and women to serve the church effectively,” said Gary Colledge, regional coordinator and an adjunct instructor for Moody. “This is actually a relaunch of the distance learning program that Moody offered in the Akron-Canton-Cleveland area from the mid-1970s to the summer of 2010.”

Colledge of Akron said the extension sites provide students a convenient way to earn degrees from Chicago-based Moody.

The Bible college, founded in 1886 by evangelist and businessman Dwight L. Moody, offers undergraduate, graduate and distance learning programs to train students for full-time Christian ministry.

Moody Bible Institute is accredited through the Higher Learning Commission-North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and the Association of Theological Schools.
