Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens hosted its 23rd annual Midsummer Night’s Celebration on Friday at the historic estate.

The signature event, whose theme this year was Beautiful Bounty, drew 560 guests under the splendor of a magnificent tent.

The celebratory black-tie affair was held on the expansive gardens and grounds of the country Manor House. The event was chaired by Colleen and Mark Wernig.

In keeping with the theme, the evening featured local culinary fare, including locally sourced produce and meats, flavored with heirloom herbs from Stan Hywet’s own gardens.

“Money raised will go toward the care of the property and continue our education programs,” Executive Director Sean Joyce said.

Spotted in the crowd were Brian and Yvonne Cherkala, John and Carrie Nouse, David and Delores Kimberly, Tatiana and Richard Harris, Sue and Matt Shannon, Annie Mizner and Alex Shannon, and John and Barbie Dietrich.

A rustic but elegant décor at this farm-to-table-style gala beckoned guests to dine and dance the night away.

Jon Fiume and Mark Munoz hosted a table filled with friends who also celebrated Jon’s 50th birthday.

Patrick Lee O’Neill and his wife, Pam, had all four children attending, including Patrick Thomas O’Neill and his wife, Sarah; Luke and Elyse O’Neill and daughters Lauren and Mari O’Neill.

A highlight of the evening was the opportunity for guests to bid on a one-of-a-kind Stan Hywet experience, the exclusive Dinner in the Dining Room, a formal dinner party staged in the handsomely appointed dining room of the Manor House.

“I love the history and culture here,” Chris Tolbert said.

Tolbert’s sister, Karen Luke, added, “My husband’s grandmother would walk to Stan Hywet and a pony-driven cart would take her to school. It is a memory she never forgot.”
