This notice today from the Ohio Department of Agriculture:
"The Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) is issuing a public health alert for an undetermined amount of various meat and poultry products (listed below) produced by Olde Strasburg Meats that were misbranded and produced without the benefit of inspection. Olde Strasburg Meats is located at 1317 N Wooster Avenue NW, Strasburg, Ohio, 44680.
ODA believes various misbranded meat and poultry products were produced and shipped from Olde Strasburg Meats between August 2011 and February 9, 2012. Products subject to this alert include:
Pulled BBQ Pork
Pulled BBQ Beef
Pulled BBQ Chicken
Chip Chop Ham
Ground Beef- 1 lb chubs sold through Valley Farm Meats retail store, either as individual chubs or as part of a bundle pack. The chubs may have been labeled with Valley Farm Meats, Olde Strasburg Meats or Olde Strasburg Provision.
Labeling information on the implicated products is currently unknown, unless otherwise identified above. Labels may or may not include the Olde Strasburg Meats label, a complete or incomplete ingredient statement, and the facility's establishment number (Est. 21) inside the Ohio mark of inspection. Products subject to this alert were distributed to various retail and restaurant type locations, including but not limited to Valley Farm Meats retail, which is connected to this establishment.
ODA is encouraging anyone who has a meat or poultry item subject to this alert to discard it. There have been no reports of illness involving products addressed in this alert. Individuals exhibiting signs or symptoms of foodborne illness are encouraged to contact a physician immediately.
