A man was shot early Friday during a robbery on Akronís west side, police said.
The man, 48, was being treated at Akron General Medical Center for a bullet wound to his shoulder.
Police say the man was walking home on South Hawkins Avenue near Thurston Street at about 5 a.m. when a silver SUV, possibly a Lincoln Navigator, stopped near him and four men exited.
During a struggle, one man fired a shot, injuring the victim. The group then drove away.
